     Educated at Clongowes Wood College SJ Dave earned his first Leinster cap on 16th May 2009 when he came on as a substitute against the Newport Gwent Dragons. In December 2009 in his third appearance for Leinster Dave scored his first try against the Dragons.

    At the start of the 2012 Six Nations he had played 29 times for Leinster and impressed the Irish management to make the 32 man match squad for Ireland’s 2012 Six Nations opener against Wales. He has also represented Leinster and Ireland Schools, U20’s and Ireland ‘A’. Dave is the younger brother of Rob Kearney who also plays for Leinster and Ireland
