Isaac joined Ulster from New Zealand at the start of the 2005/6 season where he had played with Waikato (NPC) and Wellington Hurricanes (Super 12).
Irish qualified through his grandmother, Isaac earned a call-up to the Irish senior squad in his first season with Ulster and in the summer of 2006 he earned his first international cap for Ireland against his native New Zealand. Isaac was also selected for Ireland’s 2006/7 Six nations campaign where he scored a superb individual try against England at Croke Park. A powerful scrumhalf, his ability to break the defensive line around the breakdown certainly keeps the opposition honest.
