    Jack McGrath made a superb debut against Samoa. Not only did he dominate both the Samoan tightheads, but his outstanding work at the breakdown saw him earn the Man of the match award.

    McGrath first came to prominence in the Leinster Schools Cup impressing for St Mary's College in Rathmines.  He is a graduate of the Leinster Academy and he has been capped through the Leinster age grades and has made nine appearances in the front row for the Ireland Under-20 team.
     
    McGrath made his Leinster senior competitive debut for the province in April 2010 as he packed down against Glasgow Warriors. Six more Leinster caps followed in 2010/11 as McGrath provided ample back up to Cian Healy and Heinke van der Merwe in a Heineken Cup winning season.  McGrath made 13 appearances for Leinster in the 2011/12 season scoring his first senior try for the province.
     
    Leading up to his test debut McGrath played in eight of Leinster's matches to date, coming on in both Heineken Cup fixtures scoring a try against Castres.
