The Cork native made his international debut against Romania in 2001. Mick also spent two seasons with Perpignan in France before re-joining Munster in 2004.

A long serving statesman for Munster, and when Paul O’Connell was ruled out of the Munster squad through injury, many in the media thought it could spell the end for Munster’s season. But not O’Driscoll, he ably stepped into POC’s boots and has been in fine form for the Southern Province this season. Indeed that fine form has seen him earn a callup to the 08 Six nations squad where he played against England and Italy.

Mick also captained the Ireland 'A' team against Argentina during the 2009 November test window
