    Peter captained Ireland U18, and U20 in Six Nations in 2009 and World Junior Championship in Japan and later that year helped Cork Constitution to a league and cup double in 2009/10.

    He also led Munster A to the British & Irish Cup final against Cornish Pirates in 2010 and made his Munster senior debut against Ulster at Ravenhill in January 2010.

    A born leader, Peter captained Munster when the RWC players were away at the start of the 2011/12 season and is comfortable in any position in the back-row

    Awarded the man of the match on his Munster debut game in the Heineken Cup against Northampton in Limerick, Peter made his Test debut in the RBS 6 Nations game against Italy, added a second cap against France.
